The Craven Community College Foundation announced the winners of the 2017 Community Fabric Awards for Excellence in Individual Leadership, Excellence in Business Leadership and Excellence in Education Leadership.
This is the seventh year that the annual awards have been held in honor of an individual, business and educator who excel in leadership as demonstrated by outstanding initiative, impact of service and inspiration of others. The proceeds from the Foundation’s premier fundraising event will support the college’s education initiatives.
Century 21 Zaytoun-Raines, owned by Michael Raines, is the recipient of the Excellence in Business Leadership Award. Century 21 Zaytoun-Raines has been in operation in New Bern for more than 50 years. According to their nomination application, “It has always been company policy to encourage representatives to be good citizens by aiding the community.”
Examples of organizations that Century 21 Zaytoun-Raines and its agents have been involved with include Religious Community Services (RCS), the American Cancer Society, the American Red Cross, Craven Community College, New Bern Civic Theatre, New Bern Historical Society, Partners in Education, Easter Seals UCP and area Rotary Clubs.
The company and its employees have contributed to their real estate profession and shared their professional expertise and time with the City of New Bern, New Bern Area Chamber of Commerce and Swiss Bear Downtown Development Corporation.
